Unveiling the ROLLBACK Cover

I'm very pleased with this cover for the hardcover of Rollback, which will be published by Tor in April 2007.

There's actually a lot of detail in the dark background; if you can't see it, turn the brightness and contrast up on your monitor.

Click on the small version above for a bigger version; note that your browser might scale down the bigger version for display -- click on the big version to see it full size.

The notation about this being a "SciFi Essential Book" refers to this cross promotion with the SciFi Channel.

The cover looks nice.

As much as technology continues to advance, there will always be those who prefer gadgets of a mechanical nature.

Much like the mechanical timepiece in Golden Fleece.

Can't wait to get my hands on the new book.

Thanks, Nick. I'm very pleased with the inclusion of the old-fashioned watch as part of the cover; it's the perfect human touch for this book, which is very warm and emotional.

The Amazon.com cover was an early, place-holder. This is the final, real cover.

The cover is beautiful. Will the book be different in any way besides format from the serialization in Analog? Just curious about how these things work.

And the story is marvelous. I have the issue with the last part at home, and haven't had time to read it yet, but I must amend that shortly.

The ANALOG version is the full text; nothing was omitted. Many thanks for the kind words! :)

So does that mean we'll see the paperback version in June?

Jim, the paperback will be out a year after the hardcover. No paperbacks come out just eight weeks after the hardcover.

The cover looks great, and having read the serialization in Analog, I'm still excited for its release. I can't wait for a hardcover copy! It's another wonderful story.

The Rollback cover has been slightly revised, and is even better! See here.

Cheers,

Rob
