Reminder: Winnipeg FlashForward launch party begins at 6:30 on Thursday

Those darned timezones! Thin Air: Winnipeg International Writers Festival, in conjunction with CTV, is hosting a public viewing of the pilot episode of FlashForward, the TV series based on my novel, as it airs on Thursday, September 24, 2009. The event will be held at McNally Robinson Polo Park in Winnipeg, with me doing commentary before the show, during the commercial breaks, and afterwards.

But the start time for this event is 6:30 p.m. (not an hour later as previously announced), because FlashForward airs at 7:00 p.m. Central Time -- including Winnipeg. D'oh!

Details are here.

Mr. Sawyer,

I don't have time to write a good critique (this is my fiction writing hour), but I just finished watching the FlashForward premiere and I had to comment that it was fantastic. I had expected changes from the novel, and worried that they would be trite, but they were deftly executed. My wife and I are hooked. We'll be following the show until it ends.

As an aside, did you see the preview for V? Cool.

I just watched the show, and it is WAAAAAAYYY better than anything I expected. I must admit I thought my favourite novel would be butchered, but it was great!

Thank you for writing it, and thanks to all the guys who made it so it could be enjoyed by a larger audience!

You made my day!!!

Enjoyed the Winnipeg event, and would have liked to stay and chat if I wasn't chaufferring my friend Christian Bok around (along with Hal Niedzviecki). Looking forward to reading WAKE and to episode two of FlashForward.

Hi Rob,

An excellent premiere and presentation last night in Winnipeg. And no technical difficulties!

Very nicely done.
