How much do novelists make?

I'm lucky, and I know it; most of my colleagues aren't.

Gary Karbon discussed this last year in the blog Culture Feast:

Part 2

Part 3

Sheesh. Someone remind me to pick up the bill next time I have lunch with a writer.

Q. What's the difference between a full-time novelist and a large pepperoni pizza?

A. A large pepperoni pizza can feed a family of four.

The only reason I can afford to work part-time and write is that my husband feeds the family. He is my "Patron of the Arts", a term I picked up at SiWC where we briefly met, RJS. I'd have dropped by much sooner if I'd thought to go looking for your blog.

Hi, Karen. :) Good to see you here. In science-fiction circles, we sometimes refer to the SSU: the spousal support unit. ;)
