Fascinating left-brain / right-brain test

Check it out:

Right Brain v Left Brain

For me (and I'm right-handed) she spins clockwise, unless I focus on the lower-left corner of the frame, in which case she spins counter-clockwise, or "anti-clockwise," as they say on this Australian site -- which prompted Carolyn, who is also right-handed and also saw the dancer spinning clockwise, to quip that maybe she spins the other way south of the equator due to the Coriolis effect ... ;)

That is too weird. She was turning clockwise and I couldn't see it any other way. I went back and forth many times and even tried the bottom left corner method you suggested. Then I just put my chin in my hands and stared at the picture. Sure enough it changed direction after a few minutes. Now I can't see it any other way than anti-clockwise.

Oops. I have the picture opened in another tab and after entering the paragraph above I looked again. Now she spins clockwise.

Too bizarre.

When I look directly at her she spins clockwise.

When I look off the image (any direction) and only watch her with my peripheral vision she spins counterclockwise.

I wonder what the implications are if you can observe it spin in either direction by choice of will.

I can see her going in either direction, and can make her change "direction" by focusing on her feet and concentrating on the other one being in the background.

However, where's the scientific link between her perceived direction and which side of the brain you favour? I call shenanigans. Shenanigans!

With some effort, I could see her spinning in either direction. She's an animated necker cube! You could have used her in Factoring Humanity.

So far I've only been able to see her going clockwise. However, I am a very left-brain person - logical not intuitive, reality not fantasy based, etc. So that is odd.

I can only see her going clockwise, but based on their list of characteristics, wouldn't be able make a guess as to whether I'm more of a right or left-brain person. Either list fits me pretty well.

I can make necker cubes dance back and forth at will, at least!

I'm the only one in my family who see it anti-clockwise and I'm the only lefthanded so I think there is a clear relation in it.

However, I don't think it is related with the way your brain works -logically or emotionally. I'm a very logical person and I see it anti-clockwise but my sister is very emotional and she sees it clockwise.

In the other hand, I think that the more logical you are the harder it is to change the direction. My sister was able to change it in few seconds after see it for the first time while it took me more than 10 minutes to do it.
