Rare Trek images
As anyone who has read my novels knows, I'm a huge Classic Star Trek fan. Today, I stumbled across one of the most interesting sites I've ever seen about the fine details fo the original show. Check out Star Trek History to see what the Tholian and the Melkotian actually looked like, lots of great close-ups of the original filming miniatures, and much, much more.

Hey Rob:
Any chance you might write a Star Trek novel?
I liked the Classic Trek but out of all the series I thought Enterprise was by far the best of the Post Classic Trek shows. Though Voyager was a close second to Enterprise. Generations and DS9 never held any appeal for me.
What is your fav Post Classic Trek show (if any)?

The secret history of my aborted Star Trek novel is here.
For me, NextGen was my favourite, although the first season is all but unwatchable; the last season of Enterprise was very good, too.
THIS IS SO COOL. Thank you for posting the link, Rob--I can't wait to explore it fully.
I took a quick look at the "Elaan of Troyius" deleted scene. I got all shivery when I read the Spock/Uhura conversation about her wanting to learn to play the Vulcan lyre, and Spock offering to give her the theory. If I remember correctly, Uhura plays the lyre in other episodes, so is this the little missing bit that set all of that up? It would have given a nice connection between Uhura and Spock, too. I guess the thing that's most interesting is that the scene gives Uhura some content-rich dialogue for a change!

P.S. Post-STAR TREK series: my favorite is NextGen, too, but the amazing-yet-mostly-underappreciated DEEP SPACE NINE comes a very close second.
When I was eleven and THE NEXT GENERATION came out I was so loyal to Kirk and the gang from the original series that I refused to watch the new series, mostly because I couldn't believe that they had replaced Shatner with a bald guy. (Hey, I was eleven. And little did I know that Shatner was wearing a toupee.)
I'm still loyal to Kirk. No newfangled stuff. Kirk is the rocking Naval Officer.
